Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me. :la:
Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang. :D
The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Quick Photoshop Question

Hey! Just a quick question to fellow photoshop users.

I accidentally presses some keyboard button which created this strange mark on my work file:

It doesn't do anything and doesn't really cause any problems but it annoys me that I don't know what it is and I can't get rid of it. Does anyone know what tool made this so I can get rid of it?

Edit Well that was fast. Thanks for the answers. It was the pipet tool and I was able to drag it off the canvas while holding ctrl. Thanks! :D

It's a pipet tool, a color sampler. You get rid of by choosing pipet either pipet and holding ctr or by choosing the color sampler tool which is under pipet, and dragging it out of the picture, and it should disappear. :>
