The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Presentation Time!

Hello little deerlings!

Remember that bachelor thesis I've been talking about this whole year? Well, it is finally time to end things! I just got an email from my teacher that I can come and give my presentation of the thesis THIS Thursday! I have two days to put up a max of 15 minute presentation about making graphics for a Facebook game.

So I better get started! Thankfully I already have finished the 37 pages long thesis so I just need to pick the parts I want to talk about but... Damn! I'm really nervous about holding presentations, but man am I ready to get this thesis done for good!

So wish me luck! It will be all over this Thursday!
*goes to plan if I should finish important collab first so I can concentrate on this for the rest of the time or start with this*

Update! Alright! I have my 20 slides long power point presentation ready for tomorrow! I think I am good to go!

I wasn't even that worried about making the presentation but I am still nervous about giving the speech. But you know what? As I was making it, I was genuinely excited. I was actually proud of what I had done and I actually want to tell people what kind of experiment this project has been and I am little excited and eager to do this presentation. Huh? First time for everything I suppose.

You only have ONE presentation to worry about? One of the classes I'm taking now is basically teaching us how to deliver speeches, and we've done SIX already this semester!... which I've actually kind of enjoyed. even having a minor speech impediment hasn't slowed me down.
