Amity Square - Nikolas Dewberry

AHAHAH! Though Tammy was done with joining pokemon crossing groups?! AHAHAHhahaaahaaa... Anyway, I made Nikolas like a year ago but never got a chance to use him. Then I saw this cute little private group with cool people and thought I could finally use the little snowman. Thank you very much for accepting the old man.

Nikolas is an old tree and life has left marks on his bark. Right away he appears cold and that is not only because of his type and ability. He's a hard pokemon to approach and read but if you are brave and stubborn enough to approach this little abominable snowman, you'll find a stern but also honest old man of few words.  Nikolas doesn't say much, only what is needed and he appreciates personal space and peace. He likes to be efficient and not waste anytime. Loafing around is simply something he can't accept. His old age is starting to catch up to him tho and often finds himself in the need of sitting down and catching his breath, much to his displeasure. He is not physically as strong or fast anymore as he would hope for and bringing up these shortcomings are a huge stab to his self esteem. Even if you try to help him. He hates feeling useless. 

Due to his age and especially living vast majority of his life away from society, his knowledge of modern technology is very low and he tries to stay away from anything that makes sounds and uses electricity. Show him a computer and this snover will be confused for days. He is also quite out of loop of current trends and what young kids are into. He is a bit bothered by this but instead of complaining about "today's youth", he will try to sneak away from the situation, as he's ashamed of his own lack of knowledge. He is a magikarp out of water in this new town but tries his best and is determined to fit in. 

All in all, Nikolas is a hard to read hermit but if you do choose to approach him and treat him with respect and patience, he will do the same to you and you have a pokemon whose word you can trust and will work hard to help you (plus he's nice company during summer heat). Just don't make the mistake of asking about his past. He does not want to talk about it as he came to this town to forget about it.

History:
Nikolas Drewberry was born in small cabin deep in the woods near lake Acuity, Sinnoh. Life in an eternal ice kingdom is harsh and Nikolas' childhood was short. Quickly at young age, Nikolas became a woodcutter, just like his father. 

Nikolas grew up working with his father and he was home taught by his mother. The family lived in isolation, away from closest towns. Once a month Nikolas traveled with his dad to towns and sold the wood they had cut, and restocked food and other needed supplies they could not provide on their own. This had been Nikolas life for 18-years. He did not complain. He was raised to appreciate hard honest work and family. It paid enough for them to live by and quite honestly, booming towns did not interest Nikolas that much. This all changed on the next fateful Midsummer that year.

Midsummer was always a special day for Nikola's family. It was the only day of the year when they left their house and went to celebrate summer in closest town. That is when Nikolas met her. A beautiful roselia maiden called Evalina. Her family was from Hoen and were visiting Sinnoh region. Nikolas had never met anyone more beautiful than her and fell in love with her. The feeling was mutual and the couple spent a passionate night together which only fueled their love. The next day Evalina revealed him that she was moving away soon and asked Nikolas to come with her. The snover could not agree with this. The roselia was sad but understood. She told him she would be staying in this town for one week, in case he changed his mind. When Nikolas had to leave home, for the first time he did so with a heavy heart.  

The feeling did not go away and for the first time in his life, Nikolas disobeyed his father and everything his parents had tought him. He told his parents he had fallen in love with the girl and wanted to go with her. His parents disagreed with this and told him it was Nikolas' duty to look after their house and property that had been in their family for generations. Nikolas was conflicted but in the end, he chose to follow his heart and ran away. He met up with Evalina and the couple left together.

7-years had passed. Nikolas and Evalina were happily married and they had a budew son named Christian. Everything seemed fine until one day Nikolas received a letter. He was informed that his parents had both passed away and their house and property was left for him. Guilt overflew the snover. He turned to his wife and son, told them he had to go back. Go back to his parents house. At least to check it. Evalina agreed and together family moved back to the cold region.

When they arrived at Nikola's old house. The guilt Nikolas was feeling sank his heart even more. The house and property, all were in terrible shape. It seemed like his parents had tried their best to take care of it but old age and sorrow of losing their only son had taken its toll. Nikolas wanted to continue. Continue taking care of his parents house and business. Evalina agreed with him, but hid her true feelings.

Years passed and life was rough. Unlike Nikolas, who was a snover, Evalina and her son had hard time to adapt in such a cold and harsh life. Evalina's health had started to drop drastically. Nikolas was always too busy taking care of the family practically alone. Evalina knew how much it all meant to Nikolas and she felt quilty of making the snover ran away from his home. Thus she chose to hide her health problems. Eventually, she died due to her poor health and left Nikolas and their 16-year-old son alone. 

Christian blamed his dad. He blamed Nikolas for being too obsessed of looking after his stupid home and not noticing how sick Evalina was and that it was his fault she was dead. Father and son argued long and finally Christian left Nikolas. Nikolas was left all alone in his family house. He shut himself in and started to live again like he had with his parents. All by himself and only leaving when he had to.

Many years passed by. Nikolas was an old man now and life in ever cold forest was harder than ever. He was still alone and doing his job had become harder and harder each year and it was clear he could not keep up like this for too long anymore. Then, one day he received a letter, from his son Christian. The son told him that he still had not forgiven Nikolas for his mother's death but he did not want his father to die alone in same place. He was not ready to meet Nikolas again yet but had sent him a ticket to a quiet little town where Nikolas could finally retire and have a happy life. Christian begged him to accept it. Nikolas thought about it long and hard. And finally decided it was time to let go. His old home had become a monument of sad memories and mistakes and it was time to move on. Nikolas packed his few belongings, locked the door and threw the key away.


Ability: Snow warning
The air around Nikolas is always cool and you can see little snowflakes fluttering around him. He can control how strong the hail is and only when he sleeps it fully stops

Moves:
Blizzard: He rarely uses this but its handy when he wants to be alone not let others get to him
Wood Hammer: He used this to ram down trees. His old age is taking the toll tho and using this hurts him a lot now
Razor Leaf: Nikolas uses these sharp leaves to cut wood
Grass Whistle: He may not look like it, but Nikolas can play a harmonica that he always carries with him. His sweet melodies can make anyone fall asleep.

Extras: 
• Nikolas' touch and body are cool.
• Nikolas actually likes flowers a lot but is afraid to try grow them
• Every spring, his body grews berries. He quickly gets rid of them and never spokes about this
• The flower on his hat is actually felted and made by his wife. It's a burned rose.
• Hopes to meet his son once again but is also terrified to meet him again
• Nikolas is quite short. (if he ever evolves, he will gain a huge growth spurt)
• He likes all his food frozen (don't ask him to cook for you if that's not your thing)

• After living alone so long, he actually appreciates the company but struggles showing it.
